CD Replication is when a “Glass Master” is made from your master CD to Stamp or Press CDs using an injection molding process. Replicated CDs require much more set up time but they can turn out CDs by the seconds. Generally you will not be able to Replicate CDs with a quantity less than 500. The reason being, it cost too much to set the machines up. On the other hand the cost per disc tends to be significantly lower than Duplicating CDs. One of the down sides to Replicating CDs is the turn time. The average turn time for CD Replicating is anywhere from 10 - 20 business days. With that said most companies have the ability to rush orders through as quickly as 24 hours but rest assure the client pays a healthy price for that luxury. Just like the Duplicating companies the Replicating companies offer the client many options such as Inserts, Tray Cards and Printing on the CD Face. One major difference is replicating companies use Screen Printing for the CD Face and the Inserts and Tray Cards are run on Printing Presses making the finished product the highest quality one can get.
