  • CD Face – the part of the disc that gets screen printed
  • Insert – artwork inside the jewel case
  • Tray Card – artwork underneath the CD Tray.
  • Jewel Case – plastic package that holds and protects the CD and artwork
  • CD Tray – the section of the jewel case that holds the CD in place
  • Polywrap – seals the package with folded edges.
  • Shrink-Wrap – starts out very loose and is run through an oven causing the plastic to shrink tightly around the case.
  • 2 panels – Take a sheet of paper. The front is one panel and the back is a second panel
  • 4 panels – Take a sheet of paper and fold it in half, the front is one panel, the back is a second panel. Now unfold the paper. Inside to the left of the fold is a third panel and the side to the right of the fold is the fourth panel.
  • 4/0 – full color front, nothing on the back
  • 4/1 – full color front, black and white on the back (inside if 4 panel)
  • 4/4 – full color both sides
  • Screen Printing - a process of applying inks to the lacquer finish of the cd
  • DigiPack – full graphics panels replace traditional jewel box paper inserts, and a tray keeps the disc in place.
